3 Must-See Events at Paris Gallery Weekend

By Fine Arts Graduate Anaïs Montevecchi

We asked Anaïs Montevecchi, a fine arts graduate specialising in the mediation of contemporary art in the private sector, to highlight her 3 must-see events at Paris Gallery Weekend, which will take place in the days between 26 – 27 May all around the city of Paris.

Galerie Templon, Chiharu Shiota (2016)

GALERIE TEMPLON

One year after celebrating the 50th anniversary of his gallery, Daniel Templon opens a new location at 28 rue du Grenier Saint-Lazare, a stone’s throw from his two spaces on rue Beaubourg. To inaugurate this new space, the Templon gallery gives carte blanche to Jan Fabre who will invest in the 250 m2 of exhibition space. I am particularly impatient to see this exhibition, which will surely be spectacular!

GUIDED TOUR ABOUT COLLECTING
The Paris Gallery Weekend asked me to develop a special offer of guided tours for collectors. I will host two visits open to all, on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 at 14h for those who want to learn about the collection: buying tips, information on French legislation, price estimation, etc.. I will thus try to answer all the questions that people often ask themselves when taking the step of purchasing one’s first piece of art.

Festival des friches du Nord Est de Paris
For the more adventurous, here is finally a good alternative plan: from 22 to 27 May 2018, we will have the Festival des friches du Nord Est de Paris. For 6 days, 6 venues come together to offer the public a festive, artistic, or reflexive stroll through a galaxy of cooperative initiatives, whether they be squats, artist-run-space, cultural third places or others.
