Humor in art
By Jo Morten Weider
Humor is an existential phenomenon like most themes encountered in contemporary art today. Still, once it makes you laugh, it is not always perceived as art. When it is explicitly comical, it can become difficult for people to consider it meaningful, deep, or take it serious.
Humor in art has traditionally been a slippery slope. Comedy and art are somehow often perceived as two different things. Still there are a number of artists that incorporate humor in their works, and they often manage to make you laugh. Is it still art? Judge for yourself.
