Alice Godwin is an arts writer, editor and researcher based in Copenhagen. Originally from London, Alice moved to Denmark in 2022 and works with international galleries, museums and publications, including Frieze, The Brooklyn Rail and Aesthetica. 

Most recently, Alice was an in-house writer and researcher for Gagosian in London, focused upon the gallery’s celebrated programme of exhibitions, art fair presentations and consignments, as well as articles for the Gagosian Quarterly magazine. Significantly, Alice penned the catalogue essay for Damien Hirst’s Fact Paintings and Fact Sculptures show at Gagosian Britannia Street.

Alice works with a number of Nordic art galleries and institutions. Notably, she wrote the catalogue essay for Brazilian/American artist Janaina Tschäpe’s exhibition Wandelstern at Galleri Bo Bjerggaard in Copenhagen’s meatpacking district in 2022.

Alice’s academic background is in modern and contemporary periods of British, European and American art. She has degrees in History of Art from the University of Oxford and The Courtauld Institute of Art in London.
